Photos: Oklahoma Off the Highway

If you want to see what American looks like, spend as much time as possible off the highway. Otherwise, it all looks the same. Here are a few photos we took over the past few days driving from Oklahoma City to McAlester.

I am really enjoying your comments. I have always enjoyed the 'two-lanes' and am glad to see that you're finding them interesting also.

Rose,
This series is GREAT! I lived in Oklahoma in the 50s/60s & on two-lane highway trips with my family, the 2 signs that stick in my mind are: "Get US out of the UN" and "Pecans and Bibles" The latter sign was on the numerous roadside stands that literally sold pecans and Bibles. Did you see either of these signs?

That third picture looks like a building in my hometown of Holdenville.
