34%

I'm not a fan of polls (How many were polled? What questions were asked?), but I like this number:
The latest CBS News poll finds President Bush's approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 34 percent, while pessimism about the Iraq war has risen to a new high.
A BBC poll found that 60 percent of people in 35 countries believe the war has increased the likelihood of terrorist attacks worldwide. Unlike most American outlets, the BBC tell us it questioned some 41,856 people in the poll.
"It's official. Citizens worldwide think Western leaders have made a fundamental mistake in their war on terror by invading Iraq," says Doug Miller, president of the international polling firm GlobeScan, which carried out the survey.

"Short of the Iraqi government asking them to stay longer, people think the troops should leave," he says.

Ali Mohammed, 6, a victim of a mortar attack recovers in a hospital, in Baghdad,Iraq, Monday, Feb.27, 2006. Four mortar rounds exploded Monday on a Shiite neighborhood in Baghdad, killing four and wounding 16, as Sunni Arabs are ready to end their boycott of talks to form a new government if rival Shiites return mosques seized in last week's sectarian attacks and meet other unspecified demands, a top Sunni figure said Monday. Yeah, well people believe all kinds of strange things. Like this:

"Once this hits the Middle Eastern press, the violence over the cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad will look like a calm day at the park."

Other people don't. Like this:

Not so. Give it a week and you'll see.

yeah, well, people also post all kinds of strange comments, like most of yours, "timmy"

Your comments are beginning to make me laugh; they're hard to take seriously.

"Your comments are beginning to make me laugh..."

You like to laugh don't you Tommy? You know what's funny Tommy? Splints of bamboo ran under your fingernails at 3 in the morning while some gook commando shouts native expletives in your ear. 5 months, 22 days later all that's left of that place is burning rubble and a pile of teeth. There were two survivors, me and that shouting fuck's right ear, safely put away under my pillow.

So, go ahead Tommy...laugh it up.

Bush slams conservative mainstream media?! How can this be? Doesn't he read Media Matters?

Gook? Nice. Haven't you learned anything from the man you love to defend? Waterboarding anyone?

“I think what’s healthy is that there’s no monopoly on the news,” Bush said. “There’s competition. There’s competition for the attention of, you know, 290 million people, or whatever it is.

yeah, Whatever...290, 320, 360 million.

Serious, "timmy," you still cling on to his every word? I guess it is difficult to acknowledge that you've been had and lied to over and over again. The only way to keep your sanity is to continue rooting for your team.

Oh, get off your politically correct high horse Tommy. Fer crine out loud, if you you couldn't tell I was just goofing on you you're really a lost cause.

Another interesting tidbit about waterboarding...it's also inflicted upon our special forces members as part of their training. Yup, we torture out own troops.

And even more on that CBS poll:

I did not know I could spit coffee on my monitor and wet my pants laughing at the same time.

Thanks, Rose, this site is a constant journey of self-discovery for me.

Have you dropped any bombs at dailykos.com
I'm sure they'd love to hang with you.

Nah, those guys are whacked.

Look, I'm just trying to add a little sanity here. I'm a Democrat and I support the war. I believe that secular liberalism is best served by destroying facisism and promoting democracy. I know, crazy stuff. But I'm pretty much in the same camp as Christopher Hitchens, so if you think he's nuts you'll probably think I am as well.

It's just that all this Bush bashing doesn't seem to have any constructive or useful purpose. In fact, I think it ultimatly helps Bush.I'd really like to see some Democrats offer some solutions for a change.

I'm not a big fan of Bush, hell, if I was asked to rate his job performance I'd probably give him...I don't know...a D+/C- or something. But he ain't half as bad as you guys make him out to be...which appears to be somewhere between Hitler and Jeffery Dahmer.

Come on, there's some complex and not-so-obvious stuff happening in the world today. Give it it's due..

Why do you support the war? Why did we start this war? What's the goal? You truly believe we're in Iraq to promote democracy?

All this Bush bashing? If Bush were a Democrat, you'd be hearing the same concerns and outrage as you're hearing now.

I agree it's not nearly as fun as the great blow job heard 'round the world discussion of a decade ago.

Didn't Bill say she didn't inhale? Or am I just getting that mixed up with some other story? Yeah, those were the days...Juanita Broaddrick...Kathleen Willy...Paula Jones...

It's funny, the press never really pursued my favorite Bill Story. The one where he refused to lift a finger to save a mentally retarded African American from state execution so he could appear tough on crime. Classic Bill.

Man, I used to love watching him carry that 20 pound Bible to church. What a guy.

I'll shut up after this, but here's what I'm talking about when I say the Left has abandoned Liberalism:

http://compasspointsblog.com/?p=663

Brad: I’m found of saying (and I hope it’s true) that in an historical sense, American conservatives (from libertarians to traditionalists) are actually liberals, and that the Left’s view of liberalism isn’t liberal. Is Europe’s Islamic “problem” a consequence of its failure to honor Western liberal tradition?

Bruce: Yes. Certainly the European left’s ultimate values nowadays are not liberal ones. Multicultural ”tolerance” for non-liberal cultural traditions clearly takes precedence over liberal values such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, equal rights, and individual self-determination. Across Western Europe, all these things have been trampled on in the name of ”respect for other cultures.”

I'm not a fan of generalizations. There is no way to define the "left" in a short graf. Don't fall into the media trap, timmy.
